Roadmap
Where quantum and energy converge
From foundational research to production trading systems — two tracks that started separately and are growing together. No hype, just milestones.
Foundational Research
Academic research that laid the foundation. Carsten Blank — from applied mathematics (breather solutions, nonlinear PDEs) to quantum ML — co-developed PennyLane (2,000+ citations), published on quantum kernel-based classifiers (npj Quantum Information, 196 citations), and quantum-enhanced analysis of stochastic processes. Israel F. Araujo pioneered divide-and-conquer quantum state preparation (Scientific Reports, 271 citations) and configurable sublinear circuits, setting new standards for loading classical data into quantum computers. Their joint paper on low-rank quantum state preparation (IEEE TCAD, 50 citations) became the scientific core of Q-Alchemy — and the reason both tracks could converge into one company.
Founding & Rymax-One
data cybernetics founded in October 2021. Immediately joined the BMBF-funded Rymax-One initiative to build a quantum computer — contributing compiler development, cloud access, and HPC interfaces.
Patent Filed on Quantum State Preparation
US patent application filed (US App. 19/075,065, patent pending) for our adaptive hardware-aware quantum state preparation method using iterative tensor decompositions and quantum circuit optimization. The critical step that makes quantum machine learning and quantum Monte Carlo practically viable — and the core IP behind Q-Alchemy.
PineXQ Delivered
PineXQ (pinexq.net) — our unified cloud platform — is production-ready. It hosts Gramian Grid and Q-Alchemy, provides enterprise API access, connects to quantum hardware partners (IQM, IBM), and enables quantum-classical hybrid workflows. The backbone that scales with our customer base.
Rymax-One Concludes
The BMBF-funded Rymax-One research initiative concludes in November 2025. Our contributions — compiler development, cloud infrastructure, and HPC interfaces — are in production. The quantum computer is real.
BKV Certification
Gramian Grid obtains Bilanzkreisverantwortlicher (BKV) status — the regulatory prerequisite for independent balancing group management in the German energy market. This is the key that unlocks direct market access for our customers.
Live Trading on EPEX SPOT
Gramian Grid goes live on EPEX SPOT for 24/7 continuous intraday trading. Our algorithms start generating real IDC premiums for customers — turning price volatility into measurable revenue.
Quantum-Enhanced Trading Research
Research program on quantum and quantum-inspired methods for IDC premium improvement. This is where the two tracks meet: better forecasting models from our quantum ML expertise, directly applied to continuous intrinsic trading.
Q-ROM Concludes
The BMBF-funded Q-ROM research project on application-oriented quantum informatics concludes. The results feed directly into Q-Alchemy — advancing our quantum state preparation platform from research prototype to production-grade tooling.
Q-Alchemy at Scale
Q-Alchemy scales to handle up to 16 TB of data for quantum state preparation — enabling enterprise-grade quantum machine learning workloads and opening new application domains.
Quantum Optimization: Proof of Principle
First proof-of-principle demonstrations of quantum optimization applied to energy trading. Not hype — a concrete validation of where quantum hardware can outperform classical methods for portfolio optimization and dispatch problems.
